Stepping into the role of a dad today looks very different from the previous generation—and quietly watching my husband embrace fatherhood has been a wonderful experience so far. The stereotype of a distant provider who shows up only on weekends no longer exists.
At home, my husband doesn’t “babysit” our son; he co-parents. From learning and mastering diaper changes to handling school duties, and of course the much-needed art of pacifying toddler meltdowns, he is deeply connected with our family dynamics.
I do take pride and feel grateful when I watch him play, listen, and teach our little one how to navigate through his tantrums with so much tenderness. Even on the most disheveled days, his calm confidence becomes an anchor for our home through every transition.
Being “Dad in Charge” isn’t only a designation that fathers wear—it’s a daily intentional bond and commitment to building a strong family.
